Do ethical employers use lying and mocking tactics to get "undesirable" employees to resign?

No. They don't have to resort to lying and mocking to get undesirable (whatever that is) employees to resign. The employer signs the paycheck and owns the business. All he/she/they have to do is send the employee out the door with a pink slip in hand.
