Is society addicted to hatred?

Sure it's impossible to avoid all hatred, but are we hating people for the worse possible reasons? I can understand being frustrated by someone who has a nasty habit or chooses not to think (ie stupid), but what that a serious problem he or she couldn't help. In addition hatred makes a great diversion from facing your own flaws or even having others from noticing them as well. Hatred can be expressed in so many ways, like when we make fun of people and their misfortunes or just simply ignoring them, the only legal assault. The best way to avoid the undesirables is watching the media, look at all the thin, attractive, (not to mention obnoxious) people we and want to aspire to in the movies, magazines and TV.
